Recently, we learned that the Polestar 5 will make its official debut at the Munich International Motor Show in September. The Polestar 5 essentially continues the design concept of the Precept concept car released by the brand in 2020. The vehicle will be equipped with an 800-volt high-voltage electrical system, and the top-of-the-line version can deliver a maximum power output of nearly 900 horsepower.
Although Polestar announced some core parameters as early as 2023 and showcased a prototype close to the production state, the complete technical details and interior design will not be revealed until the Munich Motor Show. The Polestar 5 will adopt a new modular aluminum platform specifically developed for the brand, which was developed by the R&D center at Polestar's MIRA Proving Ground in the UK and will also be used on the Polestar 6 set to debut in 2026.
In terms of power, the Polestar 5 will feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, providing a combined maximum output of 650 kilowatts (884 horsepower) and a peak torque of 900 Newton-meters. The 0-96 km/h acceleration time will be within 3 seconds, and the driving range will reach 480 kilometers. In terms of recharging, the vehicle can replenish approximately 160 kilometers of driving range in just 5 minutes.
