A few days ago, BYD officially released a teaser image of the second-generation Song Pro DM-i and said that the new car will be launched soon. The new model is positioned as a compact SUV and will be equipped with BYD's latest fifth-generation DM plug-in hybrid technology.
In terms of appearance, the front of the new car adopts a dragon aesthetic design, the headlights have become more slender, and a blackened design is used. The lower part of the front is equipped with a trapezoidal honeycomb grille, and the sides have "fang" shapes, which look quite domineering. The sides of the car remain the same as those of the current model, but the window frames have been blackened and the wheels have been upgraded to a new twin five-spoke style.
The rear of the vehicle is still equipped with two thick and thin through-type taillights, using the BYD letter LOGO, replacing the original Build your Dream, and the rear bumper has also been fine-tuned, making the overall look more concise. In terms of body size, the length, width, and height of the new car are 4735/1860/1710mm, and the wheelbase is 2712mm.
In terms of power, the new car will adopt DM5.0 plug-in hybrid technology, equipped with a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine with a maximum power of 74 kilowatts, a maximum electric motor power of 120 kilowatts, and a pure electric range of 93 kilometers in WLTC mode, matched with lithium iron phosphate blade battery. In addition, the suspension will feature McPherson-style independent suspension at the front and four-link independent suspension at the rear.
