Introduction
2025, according to the new vehicle plan, its Dynasty Network is set to welcome a heavyweight flagship SUV, the Tang L. As an "upgraded version" of the current Tang model, the Tang L is not just a simple iteration but a complete overhaul in terms of size, technology, and luxury. This new flagship aims to compete with models like the Li Auto L6 and AITO M7. Let's dive deep into the design, performance, and smart configurations of this highly anticipated new model. language into the new Loong Face. The front fascia is characterized by a layered look, created by the through-type Daytime Running Light Strip and the recessed lines on the grille. The headlights adopt a split design, with square-pupil-shaped light clusters integrated with the air ducts on both sides of the front bumper. These headlights also come with adaptive turning functions, providing a high-tech lighting effect. Above the front lip, an active air intake grille is installed, which not only enhances ventilation under the hood but also improves the vehicle’s aerodynamics.
The Tang L has seen a significant increase in length, maintaining a sleek appearance with horizontal lines extending along the body. The window edges feature a combination of chrome and black trim, forming a continuous structure at the rear pillar, giving the roof a floating effect. Hidden door handles are used on the sides to reduce wind resistance and enhance the overall look. The rear design is layered and distinctive, with a one-piece tail light inspired by the concept of "bamboo rhythm." The crisscross light strips inside enhance the vehicle’s recognizability when lit. The rear bumper is relatively simple, with an outward protruding contour and an upward-tilted bottom guard plate, adding a sense of tightness to the rear.
Interior Design
The interior of the Tang L maintains a T-shaped cockpit structure, with the dashboard and central console forming a cohesive design. The dashboard adopts the "dragon spine" concept, featuring bamboo wood panels and soft leather materials to enhance the Chinese-style luxury feel. The central console uses the same material, with a wireless phone charging pad and storage compartment. The central dashboard still features its rotating adaptive floating screen, while the instrument cluster adopts an embedded design to maintain a modern technological atmosphere.
Smart Configurations
In addition to the DiLink smart cockpit, the Tang L, as the new flagship of the SUV family, has significantly upgraded its smart driving configurations. The Tang L will be equipped with the "Heavenly Eye" assistance system combined with LiDAR, addressing the previous shortcomings in smart driving. As an L2-level assistance system, Heavenly Eye can achieve urban and highway navigation functions, as well as a variety of parking functions, further enhancing the vehicle’s active safety. The DiLink infotainment system will be upgraded to version 5.0, offering not only basic built-in applications but also a richer set of connectivity features.
Size and Space
Due to its increased size, the Tang L has a higher positioning compared to the current Tang. The vehicle dimensions are 5040mm in length, 1996mm in width, and 1760mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2950mm—an increase of 130mm compared to the current Tang. This provides more spacious seating inside. According to the official design, the seats will be wrapped in fine leather with neat stitching to ensure a luxurious feel and appearance.
Powertrain
The Tang L will offer both DM plug-in hybrid and EV pure electric powertrain options. The DM version will feature its fifth-generation DM hybrid technology, combining a 1.5T engine with a maximum power of 115kW and electric motors. The two-wheel-drive version has a motor power of 200kW, while the four-wheel-drive version reaches 400kW. The battery pack will have a capacity of 35.624kWh, offering CLTC pure electric ranges of 135km, 150km, and 165km, depending on the powertrain tuning. More information about the pure electric version is yet to be released and will be evaluated later.
Market Position and Competitiveness
The arrival of the Tang L completes the flagship lineup of its Dynasty Network. Its larger size, new powertrains, and national trend design further meet the diverse household needs of domestic consumers. The enhanced smart technology also gives it stronger product competitiveness. Leveraging its supply chain cost advantages and accumulated electric vehicle technology, the Tang L is expected to carve out a niche in the market and inject new variables into the 2025 new energy SUV competition landscape.
