Recently, the official images of Mazda EZ-60 have been released. The new vehicle is a fully electric SUV and will make its debut on April 23rd. It will be a global model, known overseas as the CX-6e, positioned as a crossover SUV. Like the EZ-6, it is built on the Changan EPA platform, featuring both pure electric and range-extended powertrains. The concept car "ARATA Creation (parameters|inquiry)" has already made an appearance at the Beijing Auto Show, and its exterior is highly similar to the production version.
The Mazda EZ-60 inherits the "Kodo" design philosophy. The vehicle features a brand-new hidden front grille, a split-headlight design, and daytime running lights with a through design that outlines the entire hidden front grille. The front bumper has an exaggerated shape, exuding a sporty atmosphere.
On the side of the vehicle, it adopts a design with short front and rear overhangs and a long wheelbase, featuring a wide C-pillar. It also incorporates trendy elements such as electronic side mirrors and hidden door handles. The new car is also equipped with large-sized wheels and Michelin tires.
At the rear of the vehicle, it also features a through-style taillight design, with a sporty coupe SUV styling. The new car is expected to be equipped with an L2-level driving assistance system, capable of automatic parking. The intelligent cockpit is expected to be similar to the EZ-6 and will offer features like a queen's seat.
Referring to the EZ-6, the new car will offer both range-extended and fully electric powertrains. The range-extended model is equipped with a 1.5L range extender, with the extender having a maximum power of 70kW and the motor producing 160kW. It comes with a lithium iron phosphate battery, offering a pure electric range of 130km/200km and a maximum combined range of 1301km. The fully electric model is equipped with a single motor, with a maximum power of 190kW, and comes with either a 56.1kWh or 68.8kWh battery pack, offering CLTC ranges of 480km and 600km respectively. Moving forward, Mazda has already planned the third and fourth models in collaboration with Changan.
