2024 Tianjin Auto Show: BYD Hiace 05 DM-i unveiled

At the 2024 Tianjin Auto Show, the BYD Hiace 05 DM-i ushered in a public appearance. Previously, the vehicle has been officially launched, with a total of 4 models and a price range of $16.230-$20.546. The Hiace 05 DM-i is positioned as a compact SUV and will be equipped with a 1.5L plug-in hybrid powertrain, equipped with BYD's latest DM5.0 plug-in hybrid technology, focusing on fuel economy.

In terms of appearance, the Hiace 05 DM-i continues the design concept of "marine aesthetics", with a wide front grille and chrome decorations arranged in dots on both sides, which looks imposing. The shape of the new Hui Haifeng headlights is tough and concise, with the blackened lamp cavity, showing a deep visual effect.

On the side of the body, the car adopts a floating roof design, which is embellished with metal decorative strips around the windows, adding a sense of style to the vehicle.

The new car uses new five-spoke wheels, and the black + silver design has a strong visual contrast and looks very dynamic. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4710/1880/1720mm, and the wheelbase is 2712mm.

Inside, the vehicle is equipped with a full LCD instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch rotatable center display, and BYD's DiLink intelligent connectivity system. Around the gear lever, there is a ring of commonly used physical buttons, including a start button, electric/hybrid switching, electronic parking brake, volume adjustment, climate control, etc. The front of the gear shift area is equipped with a 50W wireless charging slot for mobile phones, and the new car is also equipped with a USB Type A+60W Type C charging port, a mobile NFC car key, and BYD smart cloud service.

In terms of power, the vehicle will be equipped with BYD's fifth-generation DM plug-in hybrid technology, equipped with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with a maximum power of 74 kilowatts, equipped with an EHS electric hybrid system and a plug-in hybrid blade battery, with a maximum motor power of 120 kilowatts. The new model is equipped with an 18.3 kWh battery and has a pure electric driving range of 115 km in the CLTC combined mode and a fuel consumption of 3.79 L/100 km in the NEDC mode. In addition, the vehicle will support 3.3kW external discharge.
