The latest batch of new car information reported by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has come out again. The protagonist is undoubtedly still various types of new energy vehicles. Without further ado, let's take a look at the models that are worth paying attention to.


Geely Monjaro


When I just saw the application picture of Geely Monjaro, I believed that many friends, like me, first thought of Smart's Elf #1. The rounded contours and roof lines of the two cars are indeed very similar. However, a little understanding will reveal that the two cars are different in size, power, category, and overall positioning.

First of all, the Monjaro is a sedan, not an SUV. In terms of body size, the Star Wish is more than 10 cm shorter than the Genie #1, which is an A0 small car.


Among the pure electric models, the closest in size to the Monjaro is BYD's Dolphin. The wheelbase and body length of the two are the same, but the width of the Star Wish is more than 1.8 meters, while the Dolphin is 1770mm, so from the front, the Geely Monjaro looks slightly larger than the Dolphin.

However, Monjaro and Dolphin are not completely direct competitors, because from the information currently available, the maximum power of Monjaro's starting power is only 58kW, and the high-end power is only 85kW, while the power parameters of Dolphin are 70 and 150kW respectively.


However, this was not the key. Although the top speed of the Dolphin was 150km/h, it was not high among electric models, but it could already cover the high-speed environment. The top speed of Monjaro was only 125 and 135km/h, which was similar to the electric micro-cars used in cities such as Seagull and Colorful Fruit.

That is to say, the positioning of Monjaro is based on urban transportation, which means that its price range is likely to be lower than the dolphin currently sold at $13,822, especially the low-power version of 58kW, which may be listed in the future.


Considering Geely's strength in handling, design, and quality, those who are currently considering high-quality small electric vehicles can look forward to the Geely Star Wish car.


Zeekr 7X


We know that in addition to the 001, 007, and the 500,000-class 009, the Zeekr brand also has a small-size SUV - the Zeekr X. But its sales and presence are very weak, often making people forget that Zeekr has also launched SUV models. And the Zeekr 7X, which is positioned as a medium-sized SUV, may change this situation.

In terms of external dimensions, the Zeekr 7X is very similar to the Lynk & Co 08 from its brother brand. The length, width, and height of the two cars are no more than 20mm apart, but their identities are fundamentally different. Lynk & Co 08 is a PHEV plug-in hybrid model, while the Zeekr 7X is a pure electric SUV. With similar external dimensions, the Zeekr 7X has a wheelbase of 2925mm, which is much longer than the Lynk & Co 08.


Among medium-sized pure electric SUVs, the Zeekr 7X is slightly larger than the Tesla Model Y, XPENG G6, and other models. Overall, it is very similar to BYD's Song L, but in terms of height, it is 106mm higher than the Song L, which is positioned as a crossover SUV, and is also much higher than the Model Y, so the Zeekr 7X looks relatively large among medium-sized pure electric SUVs.

In terms of design, the Zeekr 7X uses the main elements of the Zeekr 007. The lines of the headlights, taillights, and side windows are highly similar, like a taller Zeekr 007. However, after the proportions change, similar design elements seem to be more coordinated on the Zeekr 7X.


In terms of power, the Zeekr 7X is also the same as the Zeekr 007, with 310kW rear-wheel drive and 475kW four-wheel drive, and the specifications of the expected endurance and battery capacity are also relatively similar.

Unlike the Zeekr 007, the Zeekr 7X will have an air suspension version, which can further reduce the height of the vehicle body by about 10mm. It is expected that its price ceiling will be much higher than that of the Zeekr 007.


At present, in the field of medium-sized pure electric SUVs, there is no hot-selling model except Model Y. The Zeekr 7X has certain potential, but its future rival, Xiaomi's pure electric SUV, may also be released soon. It is worth looking forward to whether the Zeekr 7X can withstand the pressure from Xiaomi.


XPENG P7+


In the early days of the P7's launch, it once achieved a monthly sales record of nearly 10,000 units, but with the increase in competing products and intensified competition, the XPENG P7, which has not been replaced for 4 years, has been marginalized.


Now the new XPENG P7+ has finally been unveiled, but although it still uses the P7 name, its positioning and style are completely different from the current P7.

In terms of appearance, the P7+ is very different from all the current models of XPENG. The only similarity is the through-light strip at the front of the car. The overall lines of the car body, the shape of the front and rear, and especially the fastback roof that continues to the rear, are also very special in the entire electric car field.


In terms of size, the wheelbase is only increased by 2mm to 3 meters, and the external dimensions of the P7+ are larger than those of the P7. The body length exceeds 5 meters, the width is close to 1.94 meters, and the height exceeds 1.5 meters, which fully reaches the level of medium and large sedans, and is larger than the same-level models such as Xiaomi SU7, Han EV, and Smart S7.


In terms of power, it is currently known that the XPENG P7+ only has a rear-wheel drive version, which is divided into two versions 180kW and 230kW. This is different from the 203kW of the current P7 rear-wheel drive version, which means that the drive motor may use new technology. Without four-wheel drive, this power level can only be considered average in pure electric sedans.

In addition, the maximum speed of XPENG P7+ is 200km/h, the same as the current P7, which is not extreme enough at the moment, and it also indirectly confirms that P7+ will not use power and control as core selling points.


For consumers, this is also a good thing. If you give up the pursuit of control performance and do a good job in the interior space, comfort, and intelligence, it will actually be more in line with the needs of ordinary consumers.


It is worth noting that there is no information about laser radar in the current application materials of P7+, and there is no laser radar in the picture. This may mean that XPENG may begin to transition to a pure visual solution in terms of intelligent driving.


BYD Seal 05/New Song Pro


After Qin L, BYD's most popular new car should be the Song L DM-i. Its size is similar to Song PLUS DM-i, and it can be regarded as a replacement model. So will Song Pro DM-i, which is slightly smaller than Song PLUS, also be upgraded?

In this announcement by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Song Pro with a major revamp appeared. Its styling has changed significantly from the current model. The large open grille on the front of the car has been greatly reduced, and it looks more like an electric SUV. The shape of the lights and bumpers have also been adjusted.


As for the side, the body shape and waistline have not changed from the current model, but the large silver decorative panel on the D-pillar and the silver trim on the lower edge of the side window have been canceled and replaced with black trim similar to the window. This has greatly changed the side appearance of the new Song Pro, and the structure of the floating roof makes the body look much more slender.

However, this is not a comprehensive replacement. The size of the new Song Pro is the same as the current model, which means that this is a major facelift. As for whether there will be major adjustments to the interior, we can also look forward to it.


The real key is that the power train of the new Song Pro has changed. The maximum power of the 1.5L engine has dropped from the current 78kW to 74kW, and the motor power has dropped from 145kW to 120kW. There is no doubt that the new Song Pro also uses the new DM 5.0 hybrid system. However, the power of the engine and the electric motor has dropped at the same time, and the actual fuel consumption and power performance still need to be paid attention to.


In addition to the Song Pro update, a new car, the Seal 05, also appeared in the announcement. This is the sister model of the new Song Pro. In terms of appearance, it has obvious differences from the front face of the new Song Pro, and other places are very similar. I just don’t know whether the interior will be like Qin L/Seal 06, and also give two completely different solutions.


Honda Ye S7


After talking about several new heavyweight cars from independent brands, let's give some stage space to a joint venture model that is destined not to be a hot seller - the Honda Ye S7.


First of all, in terms of styling, it has to be said that Honda's SUV based on a pure electric platform is indeed very creative. The design elements are different from the Honda models we are familiar with, and no successful cases of existing models are borrowed. Putting aside whether it is beautiful or ugly, this car is at least unique in the new energy market.

This angular style makes the Ye S7 look large, undoubtedly reaching the level of a mid-size SUV, but its body is only 47mm longer than the CR-V, and its external dimensions are almost the same as the Tesla Model Y. The length is the same, the height is 1mm different, and the width is only 9mm different.


This degree of closeness is unlikely to be a coincidence. Under the unique appearance design, Honda hopes to learn as much as possible from the successful experience of the Model Y.

In terms of power, there is only one four-wheel drive version in the announcement, with a maximum power of 350kW, which is average among four-wheel drive electric SUVs of the same level. Still, it is also relatively outstanding among joint venture electric models.
