2025-04-08

Recently, Toyota officially released a set of official teaser images of a new version of the GR Corolla. The vehicle is still covered with thick camouflage wrapping, which can be regarded as the prototype of the new version. It is reported that the vehicle will make its first appearance at the Formula Drift event to be held in Long Beach, California on April 12 local time. It is highly likely to be the GRMN high-performance version of the GR Corolla, and the production version is expected to officially arrive in the fall of 2026.

Looking at the teaser images, although it is still covered with thick camouflage wrapping, its exterior upgrades are quite obvious. For example, ventilation designs have been added above the engine hood and directly above the front wheel arches, providing better ventilation and heat dissipation effects, indicating that the new car will have a stronger power performance.

On the side of the vehicle, it can be seen that the new car will be equipped with 18-inch BBS forged wheels, and its tires have been upgraded to the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 series with a size of 245/40 ZR18. At the rear, we can see a large-sized spoiler design, which also has a very exaggerated shape.

Combining previous information, the new car will still be equipped with a 1.6T turbocharged three-cylinder engine. If it is the GRMN version, the maximum power will exceed 310 horsepower, and the maximum torque will be 400 N·m. The transmission system is expected to still offer a choice of a 6-speed manual transmission and an 8-speed automatic transmission, and will be standard with a four-wheel drive system. We will continue to follow up and report on more information about the new car.
